We first met Dexter at a wedding venue doing promotions just outside of Cochrane. We ended up grabbing a smokeless firepit and it does wonders! My sister never likes hanging out for a fire as she doesn’t like the smoke smell in her hair (women, right? XD) so it’s great being able to have my sister join for fires like when we were kids again. I bought the 19" inch Coulee with all the other components on sale. I also bought the post and the grill to complete the set. My husband always wanted to buy and we finally did in Sept 2024. Back in April my husband was diagnosed with a very agressive and ultra rare cancer. We can't really go anywhere. Last summer (can't believe it's over!), when I took some time off to take care of my husband, I cleared a spot in my backyard about 20' x 10' in size. Put gravel stones on the ground, some flagstones, muskoka chairs, and put the Coulee in the middle. We have been using the firepit almost everyday since we bought it and will continue to use it as long as there is a smile on my husband's face... and beyond. I could not be happier and very glad we bought the coulee firepit. Superb craftmanship, excellent quality, just great overall. The steel is thick and the structure is solid. The size of scoop is well thought out, you can go in circular motion and scoop the ash in one go. Qulity of all other accessories is outstanding. And most of all its made in Canada! Not to forget, same day shipping maybe almost same day)! I bought online in the morning then it arrived, in really nice sturdy boxes, in the afternoon. My family love our Coulee! Highly recommended! Great price for high quality Canadian made firepit!

I recently purchased the Coulee fire pit bundle and I really like it. It's the perfect size for my needs. I can't say it is completly smokeless, but I didn't buy it for that reason. I bought it because it is made in Canada and I want to support Canadian businesses. I don't want to leave it outside over winter, so I gave it a good cleaning and brought it indoors. With the flat lid on, it makes this amazing little coffee table (I removed the handle). Who knew a fire bit could double as a coffee table? ! My only concern was the packaging in which it was delivered. It contained styrofoam and flexible plastic, neither of which are recyclable or biodegradeable. In the "About" section it states: "Coulee Outdoor will always challenge ourselves to bring innovative products to market while respecting and protecting the planet." Perhaps sustainable packaging could be your next challenge. Beyond this one issue, I think it is a great Canadian product worth purchasing. I would have given a 4.5 start rating, but I don't see this as an option.

Seems to be very well built. Delivery and dealing with Coulee was excellent. We have only used the fire pit 3 times with pellets and the heat and flames were pretty decent. No smoke and very little ash left over. We wish it had come with a lid.

I bought the "fire pit" CouleeGo model and I am very satisfied. I was looking for a product made in Canada and I discovered the company Coulee Outdoor. I received a very high quality product that works perfectly. I bought this small model to be able to transport it during my camping trips and I am very much looking forward to the company making a transport bag available !

We received our Coulee Colorado at Christmas this year and have used it extensively camping. Always a great fire without the smokey hair the next day. We love it and won’t camp without it.

We have absolutely been loving our Coulee so much!! I had many emails of questions before purchasing and they were fantastic at getting back to me with answers. We have kept in email touch post purchase about my love for they're fire pit. The whole being smokeless is AMAZING!! My family of 6 can all sit around the firepit and there is no bad seat in the house!! No smoke (that is once you get it lit and going for about 20+ minutes) swirling at anyone's eyes. Pure delight!! Once you add some fresh logs you can expect some smoke for a very short time until they are heated up, but it's still so minor!! The build quality seems great. This sucker won't get dented or blown away, a nice solid weight and quality of metal to it. I would highly recommend the lid to help keep any water and snow out, I did a few weeks without a lid and I got very tired of scooping up sludgy ash. I would also say a small shop vac ( wet/dry vac ) as the main means of sucking up ash and cleaning it out. It makes very short work of cleaning! Sitting and staring into a fire has always been enjoyable thing to do... BUT staring into a Coulee and watching the flames lick out from the upper air inlets around the inside top of the fire pit is AMAZING!!! Using the grill grate and post system makes cooking so fun! It adds a whole new style and technique of cooking!! I've done breakfast on it and a handful of suppers. As long as you take the time to get your fire lit and going ahead of time so that it can burn a nice ash layer of heat. I've got nothing but love and good things to say about COULEE Oh and made in Canada AND even better yet... Made in my home province of Alberta. Update now almost 10 months in. still absolutely loving it. we have spent countless evenings around the fire and none of the kids ever once complain about smoke burning their eyes. watching the flames and the secondary burn is amazing and very hypnotizing. Build quality is great. recommend the lid to help with rain or snow. great company to deal with and respond very quickly to any inquiries or questions. 100% recommend

We are loving our new Coulee Outdoor fire pit. We purchased the 19 inch base edition and it’s working extremely well - keeping smoke to the bare minimum. We’ve been able to make it the year of the fire pit. Had friends over several times this year and looking forward to using it through the winter months as well. The smokeless fire pit is very well-built and I can see it lasting for many many years. It’s also great to support a local business.

Very high quality of materials and workmanship, and great to know it is made here in Canada! Customer service is also stellar. We had a small problem with heat warping along the edge. When I called them, the owner was very forthcoming and mentioned they had recently changed the design a bit (I think this was to enable use of some current and upcoming accessories) and that they realized the redesign was causing the issue. He asked for a couple of weeks to work on a resolution. Within a couple of weeks, they had sorted out the problem, and they hand delivered a new fire pit to our backyard (note we live near their location - which made this possible) and even added a free gift! The owner also provided updates throughout the process. This is the kind of old-fashioned service that is hard to find nowadays. The fire pit really is smokeless. It burns very hot and steady - probably because the design is such that it pulls in fresh combustion air. The result is a roaring fire that throws really nice light and heat. The only downside is that it does consume wood pretty quickly - just be aware of this.

I can't say enough about the 19" Coulee Yard sear lip edition fire pit I purchased in 2021. From using it at my cottage the last two summers, friends and family are in awe with the quality and performance this fire pit provides. This has to be one of the best purchases I have made. I would highly recommend this fire pit to anyone considering the purchase of a fire pit. I researched smokeless fire pits before my purchase. In my opinion Breeo and Solo stove were the only others worth considering. Solo stove is a quality product with a few downsides. It appears the material used to construct it are of thin stainless, prone to dents and it's my understanding Solo Stoves are made in China. Breeo is another product I considered. From by enquiries and research, shipping from the US to Canada gets costly offering only a few Canadian suppliers. In addition, I believe Coulee has a better domed air vent design in the bottom, providing easy ash clean-up and offering a good unrestricted air flow design for strong smoke free fires. The unit is built with top grade thick stainless, inside and out. As I mentioned previously, this is a great unit. I have used the fire pit extensively the last two summers for the traditional fire, cooking late night hotdogs and sausages on the grill or searing steaks and burgers on the sear ring. In all instances the outcome was outstanding. The grill and fire pit clean up very well leaving a rich patina finish to enjoy. Having the stainless grill lid is great in allowing the fire pit to be used as a patio table through the day. It is manufactured of high quality polished stainless. This past October I purchased the spark screen accessory. Again, I am very impressed with the quality of the spark screen. It is a well-constructed, heavy duty stainless-steel unit. Each morning after use of the 19" Coulee Yard, all that remains are minimal ashes for clean-up. The Coulee fire pit stainless shovel makes clean up exceptionally easy. The shovel is designed to fit between the interior centre air dome and wall to achieve easy scoop out of the remaining ashes. This fire pit is now two summers well used. With this the unit still looks brand new offering a rich heat generated patina finish. For anyone considering purchase of a fire pit, I would highly recommend Coulee products. Their products are of very high quality. Coulee customer service is outstanding.

We purchased the CouleeGo in the spring and used it extensively throughout the summer camping season with complete satisfaction. We are absolutely thrilled with the performance of this unit providing a clean burning hot camp fire. It’s light weight, user friendly and produces little ash for an easy clean up. We were looking to buy a locally made smokeless backyard fire pit and were happy to find one made in Cochrane, Alberta, Canada. We have been very happy with our Backyard 24”. It is a great size for about 6 - 8 people to sit around. It gives off good heat, burns the wood down to ash, is well constructed and looks lovely. We also bought the fire pit cover, which we are happy we invested in as it keeps the snow and rain out and also allows us to set up our wood, and be ready for our next fire.

I have owned the coulee yard sear lip edition for about 8 months. I also purchased the grill & post as well as the lid. The fire pit and accessories are extremely well built and sturdy. Once you get the fire burning hot there is little to no smoke. I use the grill mostly for searing steaks or roasts and it is by far my favourite way to do this, plus it gives me an excuse to make a fire. The customer service is excellent, very friendly people.

We truly enjoy our coulee go. It’s light weight and easy to set up. The fire pit was delivered promptly and we got some beeswax strips as well! The pit works well with both firewood and hardwood pellets. We really enjoyed the roaring fire that we had going in about 20 minutes and lasted for more than 50 minutes. It was truly smokeless (except right at the end when it was about to go out) and we had a great experience. 10/10 would recommend!

This is the best fire pit! We have the CouleeYard™ 19 2in1 SL Smokeless Fire Pit and it truly is smokeless. As a fire pit it throws a lot of heat, is easy to cool with too. The quality and durability is unmatched and is a perfect addition to your backyard. We love that we can use the wood pellets or other firewood in it. We bought the CouleeGo 16" a few months ago and now we just bought the 16" lid and also the little CouleeCamp 6. That's how impressed we are with this company's products. Customer service is very good and shipping is fast. We've fired up the CouleeGo 16" three times now and it really burns efficiently without any smoke (just a little when you first start the fire). Our neighbours appreciate the smokelessness when we have a fire going outdoors -- no more smoke blowing their way. :) If you are looking for a smokeless fire pit, look no further! After 2 years of searching, and looking at dozens of products, we finally found this fire pit -- we wanted something made in Canada, unlike the Solo which is made in China, and also that was aesthetically pleasing. On top of that, the product is really well and solidly made -- stainless steel. We also like how easy it is to set up and hardly any cleaning required. The design is clean, simple and looks great on our patio. You will NOT regret buying a Coulee fire pit -- truly.

Far exceeded expectations - Best Firepit ever! We purchased a 24" Coulee fire pit and could not be happier with it's performance. Genuinely 99% smoke free, and burns like a blast furnace. Heavy-duty steel, unlike Solo (made in China), this made-in-Alberta fire pit is built to last and burns the wood so efficiently that all that remains are a few white ashes.

We have been looking for a safe, attractive, smokeless fire pit. The Coulee ticks all the boxes. We are amazed at the ease of starting the fire, and the little amount of maintenance required to keep it going. The construction and appearance of the Coulee is top notch. It would look great in any setting. The flame fills the Coulee and is enjoyable to watch. When the fire dies down, the lid provides security without having to douse the fire. The next morning there is very little ash. Excellent product and superb customer service!

Amazing outdoor fireplace. This company makes a fantastic product that works. It puts off incredible amounts of heat with virtually no smoke. The accessories they sell are great and the quality is top notch. Customer service has been incredible and after ordering my fireplace I had it at my door in less than a week. We used the 19 inch fire pit last night for the first time and it was perfect. Worked well and more importantly, our kids loved it. The ash burned down to very small residue. And the fire pit looks incredible. Solid and very well constructed. This was a great buy.

We bought the 19-inch Coulee 2-in-1 fire pit with grill and lid. More expensive than your typical big-box store options but this fire pit is so solid and built to last. We used dry hard wood for our first fire and it lit up quickly and beautifully -- barely any smoke and surprisingly little smell but lots of flame and heat. I was concerned that there was no spark screen but few sparks made it beyond the thick rim of the fire pit. I'm looking forward to cooking pizza over the wood fire. There was an issue with one of my packages and Dexter without hesitation offered to send a replacement. Excellent customer service.

We got the 24" Yard with all the accessories. Excellent purchase and works very well! The unit is very well built, with great weld work. Friends were impressed by it's clean burning capabilities. The more logs you add in, the nicer the flames. Dexter was in constant communication and helped resolve a shipping error that occurred very professionally. Easy to clean and use. I'd definitely recommend the steel lid that goes over it. Keeps the insides dry and gives a very clean look. Now I need to update my backyard to go with this beauty. Looking forward to many fires with good company around.

This is a review for the CouleeYard 19 inch fire pit that I purchased in June 2021. During my research for a smokeless fire pit, I looked around at a couple of similar products from vendors in the US and stumbled across Coulee Outdoor when looking for something available in Canada. I had some specific requirements. Firstly, I wanted to be able to use pellets as well as firewood, as I like the option of being lazy from time to time and just lighting the thing with zero effort. Secondly, I wanted the option to potentially wrap it in brick and use it as a fire pit insert. Thirdly, I wanted something that would last. This is hopefully a buy once, cry once purchase, as it has a 10 yr guarantee and certainly seems to be made to a high quality and built to last. To this final point, I did also purchase the lid to protect it from the elements and extend longevity. Design wise the fire pit and lid are made of heavy duty stainless steel and probably weigh well over 60lbs together. The diameter is a little under 24 inches and the lip is 4.5 inches thick. The inside of the pit has a diameter a little under 19 inches and there is a steel base about 2 inches from the ground with holes in it to allow for airflow. The holes are small enough to prevent pellets from falling through. There is no ash pan below this base. However, after using it a few times, not much ash falls through, so it is not a major issue. It is hard to visualise the size of this thing on a website, but it is quite big. The 19 inch size is easily good for 4 people sitting around it and it takes quite a bit of wood to get a good smokeless fire going. Lighting it up for the first time, we decided to use pellets. There is a mark, around 2 inches up, on the inside of the fire pit which tells you far to fill with pellets. We bought a 40lb bag of hardwood pellets from the store and filled it up to the line. This used about a third of the bag for reference. I broke a fire lighter up into 3 small pieces and lit them on top of the pellets. The pellets then lit without any more effort. Within 15 mins we had a roaring fire and maybe 20 to 30 mins in, the flames were coming out 2 ft from the top. This pumps out a decent amount of heat and I had to move my chair back at one point. The sides get very hot and the top obviously gets insanely hot. Some hot ash did pass through the holes in the base and set the grass on fire below. The fire lasted about 40 mins in total then died off quite quickly. The ash stayed glowing for some time. We did add a handful of pellets, post main burn, and they did light up, but did not seem to burn as well as the ones that were added initially. I would add logs if you plan on extending the burn. The next day the grass underneath was obviously scorched, given that it caught on fire. The inner lip of the sear plate was also a tiny bit warped after first use, but not massively or noticeably so without close inspection. There hardly any ash at all under the base and I was able to scoop up the ash in the firepit itself using a dustpan and brush. The next time we used it, we used a smaller number of pellets to get the thing going, then added 4 logs. The pellets take all the effort away from lighting the logs which is really nice. The logs lit in a few minutes. The fire was then sustained for well over an hour using logs. Of course, we could have just kept adding logs and it would have kept going. When using pellets or firewood, there is next to no smoke. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and dealing with Coulee Outdoor was a pleasurable buying experience. If you are looking for something high quality and Canadian made, then would highly recommend. Hopefully, we will get many years of use out of it.

Our Coulee Yard 19" Dome Air flow fire pit has transformed our backyard. The quality of the material and attention to detail are exceptional—proper “Made in Canada” construction. It provides brilliant flames with warmth and virtually no smoke. The sear plate, grill and lid are great design features. Dexter was helpful and informative throughout the purchasing process (I asked lots of questions and his responses told me he had done his homework when developing the product). My in-laws saw Coulee on the inaugural evening and immediately ordered one for themselves. We are so pleased that we have been able support this excellent Canadian company and the entrepreneur behind it.

I purchased the CouleeYard 19 "Dome Airflow Smoke-Less Fire Pit, but received the wrong product. I reported the error by email and within hours I received an apology and confirmation that the ordered product would be sent to me promptly. Pickup of the wrong product was coordinated by Coulee Outdoor and the correct product was delivered to me very quickly. Kindness and quality of customer service is fantastic and far exceeds what companies have accustomed us to these years. Fire pit, lid, food grate, absolutely everything is extremely  well made in addition to being nice to look at. In short, the products and the service offered by Dexter are both out of this world.

I was in-it for the stainless steel composition and the ability to move the fire pit as needed... but have to admit there was way less smoke and smell than a normal fire pit. Very happy with the purchase!
